Centrix donates to the DTA Foundation.
In a heartwarming letter from the Dental Trade Alliance, Laura Fleming Doyle, the Executive Director, let us know how much our donation meant, and how important it is to help those with special needs. Their grant project is one that is near and dear to our hearts.
"Centrix’s donation in 2017 made a real impact as the DTA Foundation worked to broaden awareness of oral health’s impact on overall health while working to improve access to oral health care in America.
She went on to elaborate, "Without you, the innovative pilot projects and dental student scholarships funded by the DTA Foundation would not be possible. Your kindness and generosity in choosing to support the dental industry’s foundation is very much appreciated."
Watch this video to see how our contribution is making a difference to families with special needs children through this DTA Foundation funded grant project.

We were very happy to donate to this worthy cause, Dentistry from the Heart (DFTH), an event led by Robert A. McCulla, DDS at his Turlock Dental practice in Turlock, California. This is Dr. McCulla’s 5th year hosting the event that is part of a worldwide nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free dental care to those in need. Dr. McCulla and a team of 2 dentists, 4 hygienists and 3 oral surgeons provided free cleanings, extractions and fillings to patients in need.
“This is an event we look forward to every year knowing we have served nearly 500 patients seeking free dental care to date. Donations like those received from Centrix help us to provide the best products while also providing the best service,” Robert A. McCulla, DDS Centrix donated FluoroDose® Fluoride Varnish, Tempit Essentials for Temp Filling, Benda® Brush & Benda® Micro Applicators, and LolliCaine® Topical Anesthetic to assist Dr. McCulla’s team.
Dr. Vincent J. Monticciolo founded Dentistry from the Heart over 16 years ago with the goal of giving back to those who cannot afford dental care. Each year, thousands of patients are helped and millions of dollars in free dental care is donated by dentists, hygienists and other volunteers who are clear examples of the generous spirit at work in their communities.
We were thrilled to welcome a group of future dental hygienists to Centrix this week from the acclaimed Fones School of Dental Hygiene at nearby University of Bridgeport. We’re so proud of their hard work and dedication that will ultimately result in helping patients maintain good oral health and healthy smiles.
The Fones students were given a tour of the Centrix manufacturing facility and operations, and an opportunity to speak with others in the field of dentistry about their career goals and aspirations. Additionally, a top-notch student received a scholarship for academic excellence that will be applied toward their education.
One former hygiene student who took the tour now works for Centrix in product sales. At the time, she remembers saying to herself, “Someday, I’m going to work here.” It’s that kind of determination and goal setting that we so admire about these students. We’re pleased to support the Fones School and future dental hygienists, and wish them much luck in their future endeavors.
Established in 1949, the Fones School of Dental Hygiene at UB was the first school of dental hygiene in the world and graduated the first dental hygienist. Centrix is a proud supporter of this accredited program and will continue to provide educational and financial assistance to their students.
Give Kids a Smile (GKAS) is a project that is near and dear to our hearts. Each year we take pride in assisting this organization in their mission to provide dental care to underserved children. We received a wonderful note from GKAS thanking Centrix for our donations:
On Friday, February 3, 2017 we celebrated the 15th Anniversary of Give Kids A Smile (GKAS). As we look back at the impact this program has made on 5.5 million children who received oral health services, we would be remiss if we did not recognize our generous supplier partners. Together, your donations of more than $15 million in oral health care products make it possible to ‘help health happen.’ This year alone, you helped ensure that 30,000 dental team volunteers, including 8,000 dentists, had the supplies needed to provide necessary care to nearly 300,000 underserved children.
As GKAS’s official professional products sponsor since the program’s inception, we understand the crucial role you play to support one of the largest oral health care events of the year.
Thank you for your commitment to helping Give Kids A Smile.

One of our favorite events, The Virtual ToothFairy Ball and Online Auction, is an online fundraiser and auction benefiting America’s ToothFairy Affiliate clinics and programs for children. Centrix was proud to donate FluoroDose Fluoride Varnish to the 2016 Online Auction. Because the online auction is a virtual event, 100% of the contributions go directly to helping children, rather than funding a live event. They sent us a very kind thank you, and we’d like to send them a thanks in return for all their hard work. Together with other dental manufacturers, over $178,000 was raised to provide education, preventive services and treatment for children. Thank you America’s ToothFairy! We look forward to partnering with you again in 2017!
“Thanks to your support, we exceeded our goal for this campaign! We are so grateful for your generosity, knowing it will have a significant impact on the lives of the children we serve.”
